UPSC Recruitment 2016 for combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist examination: Union Public Service Commission published notification for conducting Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist examination 2016 for recruitment to the post of Geologist, Geophysicist, Chemist, Junior Hydrogeologist (Scientist B) in the Geological Survey of India, Central Ground Water Board. Eligible candidates may apply online. Other relevant details are mentioned below:

Fee:

Eligible candidates intending to apply will have to pay Rs.200/- either by depositing the money in any branch of SBI through cash or by use of net banking facility of State Bank of India/State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur/State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using any Visa/Master Credit/Debit card.

SC/ST/PH/Female candidates are exempted from payment.

Educational Qualification:

Candidates must possess Master’s degree in Geological Science/Geology/Applied Geology/Geo-Exploration for the post of Geologist.

For the post of Geophysicist, candidates must possess M.Sc in Physics/Applied Physics/M.Sc (Geophysics).

For the post of Chemists, candidates must possess M.Sc in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry.

And for the post of Hydrogeologist, candidates must possess Master’s degree in Geology, Applied Geology or Marine Geology.

Age:

For Category I (Posts in Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines), candidates must have attained 21 years and must not exceed 32 years.

For Category II (Posts in Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources), candidates must have attained 21 years and must not exceed 35 years. Age relaxation is applicable as per rules.

Mode of Selection:

Candidates will be selected on the basis of written examination followed by Interview/Personality test.
